Jordon Embree

Vice President

Jordon Embree studied at The Southwest University of Visual Arts, majoring in interior architecture and design with a minor in advertising and marketing. He gained years of experience in residential design as the head In-House Designer at a local custom home builder. He also gained further knowledge of graphic design and production as the production manager at a large format print shop. He has loved theatre since childhood and has found many creative outlets through volunteering with MTS over the years. Now, his focus is on improving and streamlining the processes we use in our theatre.

Deborah E. Flores

Debi has been on the Musical Theatre Southwest Board for two years as the Treasurer. Her career in banking has lasted over 40 years in various banks in Albuquerque which made her duties as Treasurer a good match. She started as a Teller in the now defunct First National Bank in Albuquerque, worked in lending and became a Branch Manager at Charter Bank years later before finally moving to US Bank where she is now in the Treasury Management department. Her love of the theatre started in high school and has grown over the years. When asked to join the board, it made perfect sense to try and do her best to support the community in this capacity.

Hope Ruiz

Hope has been involved with community theatre for 8 years volunteering with front of house duties. Hope joined the MTS board of directors 1.5 years ago and has enjoyed continuing to make this theatre organization great. Hope is not a performer but brings with her patron and volunteer perspectives. Hope works full time as a process engineer for Intel and is thankful that her employer supports MTS through Hope's volunteer hours. Hope is excited to engage more as the board secretary and looks forward to a great year with her theatre family.

Lilia Ruiz

Lilia has a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and maintains a license as a Certified Public Accountant in both New Mexico and Nevada. She's spent over 25 years conducting and leading financial investigations in both the federal and state government sectors and is now retired. Lilia now invests her time in various volunteer activities and is thrilled to lend her skillset to MTS where she assists with the financial and other aspects of the organization. Lilia feels especially blessed that she was able to develop her love of musicals as a youth when she saw many classics at the Ahmanson and the (now extinct) Schubert Theatres in Los Angeles, complements of the high school she attended. She continued throughout her life to support the theatre as an audience member and learned about MTS due to her new love of tap dancing where she attended a performance by the Alley Kats Tap Company. Lilia spends some of her spare time taking tap classes, yoga and hiking with her husband, Guy.

Vicki Marie Singer

Vicki Marie Singer started working with Musical Theatre Southwest in 1994 as a crew member, a spotlight operator, and a light board operator. In 1999 she accepted her first role as a stage manager for MTS’ production of Jesus Christ Superstar at Popejoy Hall. She has been active as a stage manager for MTS since then. She also stage manages for various different local production companies. Vicki served a six year term on the board for MTS board from 2008-2014. She rejoined the MTS board in April of 2016. She also serves on the board of directors for the Albuquerque Theatre Guild from 2014 - 2020. She owns and operates a graphic design firm that was established in 1991. She is the mother of two wonderfully talented children, Julian and Katahdin, and has 5 extremely over achieving grandchildren.

A strong bond with the community is what has made Musical Theatre Southwest what it is today—a community theatre built on the strong traditions of presenting Broadway-style musicals to families from across New Mexico and the nation. From our humble beginnings as a small and fledgling community theatre, we have helped bring laughter, drama and the best voices from around the state to our stages.
