On September 13, Musical Theatre Southwest’s air conditioner compressor was vandalized and completely destroyed. A second incident occurred on September 19 when it was discovered that the vandals returned to retrieve every last scrap they could from the unit.
After a difficult year financially, the Musical Theatre decided to launch a fundraiser to not only cover the deductible cost for the replacement of the unit, but to also add much needed security upgrades to the building to prevent a reoccurrence of such crimes.
